Just a Few Thoughts

Well I've had a few poems to write and some calendars to do and cards. There is always a birthday, or sympathy card. You know for years I tried to do my own Christmas cards and write poems for our anniversary card, and just make special cards for my loved ones. But until I got this computer all I did was try. It is amazing the things I can do with this. I love it. I make little books with my own poems, and children's short stories in them, and I have sold thousands of them. My stuff is good, so I've been told, and it all comes from my heart. I don't write a baby name poem without at least a tear or two from my eye, sometimes a lot of tears.
The most blessed poem I ever wrote was for my husbands daughter when she lost her first baby. Believe me, it was a hard poem to write. But you know those words came from my heart. I poured it all out for her baby, as though she was saying it. I still can't believe I wrote it, but I did. She cried when I gave it to her, and she framed it in a beautiful frame. She said, 'it said all the things she wanted to say but didn't know how.' She was so happy with that poem. It was hard to write that, but you know God gave me all those words to put in that poem. See, I haven't ever had a baby, and don't really know how it would be, but all of it came from my heart. See God gave me that. I have helped people by writing poems like that for them. One young girl told me after I gave her, her poem, she said, "I think I can have some closure now."  I just love doing these things. I sing my songs, someone comes down in church and accepts Jesus Christ, what more could I ask for? that is my blessing right there. Well I suppose I have jabbered enough. I don't know if anyone reads this or not, but it's an outlet. Share  a few lines with me. I will be blessed if you do. May God always be the light that leads you . . . .Grace

The Bridge... By Grace England

There is a bridge we all must cross,
To reach the other side . . .
And Jesus waits upon the shore,
As we take the stroll in stride . . .

He never made promises,
On earth forever . . . We would live,
But He offers life eternal,
With the salvation that He gives. . .

So rest your eyes on JESUS . . .
We'll join loved ones in Heaven above
Across the Bridge our Savior waits,
His arms outstretched with Love . . .

Safe. . .  In the arms of Jesus

So many of my loved ones have gone on before me. I know when we all meet again, we will have a big picking and grinning party. We all loved music and singing, and in our younger day we done a lot of it around the fireplace at days end, when all the cotton had been chopped or picked.  I don't regret not making the big time! As long as I can, take care of my man, keep him happy,  write and sing a few songs, make up poems, but most of all play my guitar. Then I have it all right there. God always knows what we need in life, and He will always lead us the way we should go.
I am going to put some more of my poems on here. If anyone reads them and are blessed, then that is my joy. You see God has gave me this gift, I can share it and pray someone gets joy out of it. Until later, have a blessed day or week.... Thank God For Jesus my Savior, My Friend....

Here we are again

It has been sometime since I have been on here. Time has a way of just slipping by if we let it. Our Easter was wonderful. I am so thankful for my Savior Jesus Christ. We weren't able to go to Church, but I pray God understands. I read my Bible and study it. There's a lot of it I don't understand, but sometimes when I read something I don't understand, I will find a column in the paper by Reverend Billy Graham and he just so happens to explain it to me. I have often kept a lot of his columns and from time to time I re-read them. He sure does know a lot. He is a great preacher and I really admire him.

I love Oklahoma. I enjoy reading stuff about the run of 1889. I wrote a song about that in 1989. There was a contest in the paper. I didn't win, but I sure enjoyed writing and singing the song. I thought it was well written. Most of it I just made up as I went along, which is what I do when I write songs.
My niece that lives in North Carolina is publishing my song book. I have written 108 songs, probably more than that, but that is all she is going to put in the book, as of right now. I hope folks will buy it, but they may not. We will have to wait and see. It is gonna be a good book. Pictures in it and everything.

My husband and I celebrated 46 years of marriage on the 4th of April. That is a long time. At least it is to me.Of course we must like each other to stay together that long. He is a good man, we have tolerated each other for years, why mess with a good thing.

Well I will try to keep you informed about my new book. I think the name of it will be, "One More Row Too Go." We used to be cotton pickers and Mama always said that, whenever we wanted to quit and go to the house. So one day when I was a playing my guitar, the words just floated down to me, and that was how I wrote it. You may never hear it on radio, but that is a good song. Well that is all for now, maybe later.

Hello . . .Welcome to my blog. My name is Grace, and I write poems, songs and play the guitar and sing. Music has always been a love of mine. I learned to play the guitar at the young age of seven(7) with the help of my sister Edna, who was 8 years older than I. Actually I got pretty good on writing and singing my songs and was able to record a gospel tape in 1989. I always say thanks to my sister Edna, for if it were not  for her I would have never got to play the guitar. I'm not much on blogging or writing but do enjoy doing it once in awhile. This is my very first. I hope you will trail along with me and enjoy..... May you always have a wonderful blessed day, and Thank God for our Savior Jesus Christ, who is My very best friend......
